English: AVX Tape is a studio tape machine emulation by AVX PRO. It recreates magnetic saturation, head bump, tape hiss, wow and flutter, and crosstalk between tracks. It includes three machine types, four tape formulations, and speeds from 7.5 to 30 ips.

AVX Tape: studio tape machine emulation AVX Tape gives your tracks the character of an analog studio tape recorder. It adds warmth, weight and glue to single tracks, buses and full mixes. Under the hood, a Jiles-Atherton magnetic hysteresis model runs with 4x oversampling. The saturation behaves like real tape: it responds to record level, bias and the tape formulation you choose. Machines Three studio recorder archetypes, each with its own head bump, high-frequency loss, electronics and transport: Swiss 2": big, round low end with a steady transport. Mastering 1/2": precise and transparent, ideal for the master bus. American 70s: punchy and colored, with more transport movement. Tapes Four formulations inspired by classic tape families: Magna 465: the 70s and 80s studio standard. Warm and punchy, it saturates musically. Orion HX-9: high-output with +3 dB of headroom, clean and modern. Volta 919: a low-noise European formulation, tight and slightly brighter. Crown 205: 60s red oxide, with lower headroom, more hiss and a soft top end. Format and calibration Tape width: 1/4" 2-track, 1/2" 2-track, 1" 8-track and 2" 24-track. Each width has its own signal-to-noise ratio, head bump, stereo crosstalk and azimuth error. Speed: 7.5, 15 or 30 ips. NAB or CCIR equalization. Calibration of +3, +6 or +9 dB (0 VU = −18 dBFS). Controls Record level, bias (under or over-biased), wow, flutter, hiss, output, and a dry/wet mix for parallel processing. It also includes Auto Gain for level-matched comparisons that don't fool your ears, and a click-free, latency-aligned bypass. Interface A tape deck with analog VU meters and reels that show the selected tape.
