AVX PRO Master Chain — The Re-Patchable Mastering Rack AVX PRO Master Chain puts a complete analog-style mastering rack inside one plugin. It has ten hardware-inspired modules, each with its own faceplate, meters and character, and you can re-patch them in any order. Drag a module by its faceplate and the rest of the rack slides to make room. The signal follows exactly what you see, left to right. The modules Expander: upward or downward expansion to restore punch or clean up tails, with a moving-coil gain meter. Clean EQ: a corrective console-style equalizer with low/high cut, low and high shelves and two fully parametric bells. Refine: a spectral resonance suppressor that finds harsh, ringing frequencies and tames them only when they stick out. Delta lets you hear exactly what it removes. Transformer: output-iron coloration with frequency-dependent core saturation, a low-end resonance and high-frequency bandwidth. Choose Nickel or Steel, and add optional hiss and 50/60 Hz hum. Program EQ: a passive tube-style EQ for the extremes. It's calibrated for the classic boost-and-attenuate low-end trick, with stepped frequency selectors. Saturation: a harmonic generator with independent 2nd (warm) and 3rd (forward) harmonic controls, and a glowing tube window. Inflator: loudness and density with Effect and Curve controls, a 0 dB clip and a three-band split mode. HF Limiter: tape-style treble control that limits only the band above your chosen frequency. The ear button lets you listen to exactly the harshness it removes. Clipper: hard-to-soft peak clipping with Drive, Ceiling and Softness, plus Delta. True-Peak Limiter: a lookahead brickwall limiter, verified to hold the ceiling between samples. Includes Delta. Built for mastering The whole rack runs at 4x oversampling with linear-phase filters, for clean saturation, clipping and limiting with no aliasing. IN/OUT trims on every module for exact gain staging and level-matched comparisons. Delta listening on Refine, HF Limiter, Clipper and Limiter. Every module after it steps aside, so you hear only what that stage takes away. Master section: Input, Mix (parallel blend of the whole rack), Stereo Image and Output. Stereo Image goes from 0 % (mono) to 200 %. It's transparent at 100 %, never widens below 120 Hz, and automatically protects mono compatibility. Output sits after everything, so it never changes how hard the limiter works. Realistic metering: backlit VU meters with true needle ballistics and a peak LED, and gain-reduction needles on the dynamic modules. Click-free operation: smoothed parameters, a 20 ms crossfade when a module is switched on or off, and a short soft mute when you re-patch the rack. Full latency compensation, reported to your DAW. Workflow 13 factory presets (Mastering, Loudness, Genre, Mix Bus, Creative), plus user presets you can save, import and export as files. Presets also store the rack order. Hover over any knob to see its exact value, or type a value directly. Every control works from the keyboard, numeric keypad included. Resizable hardware-style interface: brushed metal, painted faceplates, jewel lamps, toggle switches and chicken-head knobs.
