AVX Crusher — Character Compressor AVX Crusher is a compressor built to give your mixes attitude. Use it for transparent dynamic control, to push a drum bus to the edge, or to glue a mix bus together. It pairs fast, musical compression with harmonic saturation in an interface inspired by classic studio hardware. Compression 8 ratios: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, 20:1 and NUKE, a brick-wall limiter for merciless crushing. Soft knee per ratio: low ratios ease in gently and high ratios grab firmly. Opto mode at 10:1: program-dependent release that stretches on sustained material, just like an optical compressor. Attack and release with a wide range, from ultra-fast transient control to long, smooth releases. British Mode: the legendary "all buttons in" mode. Aggressive, colourful compression made for drum rooms and extreme effects. Saturation 1:1 colour: at a 1:1 ratio the plugin stops compressing and becomes a colour and warmth stage. Dist 2: asymmetric, even-harmonic saturation. Warm and round, tube style. Dist 3: symmetric, odd-harmonic saturation. More bite and presence, tape style. Oversampling from 1x to 8x for clean, alias-free saturation. Detector and sidechain Detector HP: stops low end from pumping the compressor. Band: boosts the highs in the detector and turns the compressor into a de-esser. External sidechain: for ducking and compression triggered by another track. SC Listen: hear exactly what the detector hears. Stereo Link: link or unlink the left and right channels. Workflow Mix (parallel): parallel compression with no extra buses, latency-compensated. Auto Gain: keeps the perceived level steady for honest A/B comparisons. Audio HP: cleans up low end on the output signal.
